Oscar Pistorius’ older brother faces up to 15 years in prison for allegedly killing a female biker during a fatal car crash, reports say.
According to South African TV eNCA news, Carl Pistorius has been charged with culpable homicide stemming from a car crash in 2010, in which prosecutors say his reckless driving led to the death of a motorcyclist.
Carl’s lawyer recentlyold the station that Carl “deeply regrets the accident,” but was adamant his client was not drunk at the time of the collision as claimed by the police, adding, “There is no doubt that [he] is innocent and the charge will be challenged in court.”
Reports say Carl’s trial was set to begin last Thursday, the same day his brother Oscar (who is facing a charge of premeditated murder in the death of Reeva Steemkamp) was freed on bail, but it was postponed until next month.
If the brothers are both found guilty, the Pistorius family may have two sons in jail at the end of the year.
